Wonder Woman Trips Over Cape: Blames Dog

I had a nice visit to the emergency center at MD Anderson yesterday morning after my healthcare team (two sisters, Chuck, confused dog) decided that I was indeed swelling rather a bit. We read all of the information we'd been given and "swelling" was one of the things we were supposed to be concerned about. So, off we went.

Four hours later, I'd had lunch, visits from John and Amy Mata, and a cute, cute Brit surgery fellow who sounded a lot like Tony Blair to tell me that I was doing ok.

This morning we are in Nuclear Medicine. Chuck and I have comandeered the two computers in this waiting room. We are doing some more tests in advance of the meeting with the oncologist at 1:30 today.

Final pathology is in. All cancer taken care of. Lymph nodes clean. It was indeed garden-variety breast cancer with nothing tricky. The oncologist will discuss treatment options with us. Most likely some chemo. More later.

You all can't know how much I appreciate the visits to my blog and the posts. I feel like I have a fan club!

I am cheering about the pathology news - so good to hear. Thanks for posting and doing such a great job recovering and all - keep up the good work! I ws emailing with Dad and asked him to give you a big hug for me, but perhaps sending lots of mind hugs would be less disruptive..XOXO

I was so glad to hear the "clean" pathology report. I know you are all relieved.

Sounds like you have an excellent team watching over you, and making sure you do what you need to do to fully recover. But if you had to visit the ER, I am glad to hear that at least you were seen by a cute Brit doc.

Keep up the progress; we need a Duck gathering soon.

So happy to hear about the pathology report. Randy and I are cheering as loud as we can for full, complete and very speedy recovery. Going slow must be hell for you, but do it anyway.

Love and prayers to you.

See. Mommas are always right, "clean" is better. I'm going to tell you all the right things like "Take your time, don't push yourself, ease into your gym workouts, yada, yada." I'm really on the inside telling you " You go girl, hurry up, push yourself as much as you want".

Just remember, the Yaya Sisterhood is here for you.
